COVID-19 UPDATE ECOLOGICAL CITY – ART & CLIMATE SOLUTIONS WORKSHOPS

NEW Updates for Ecological-City Workshops:

Dear Earth Celebrations friends, volunteers, participants, interns, and artists

Thank you all for your enthusiasm, dedication and support collaborating with Earth Celebrations’ Ecological City: Cultural & Climate Solutions Project. Our Art, Bio-Remediation & Climate Solutions Workshops recently launched with the inspired energy of our staff, artists-in-residence, interns and volunteer participants.

Updates for Ecological-City Workshops:

In response to the recent outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus Disease, Earth Celebrations has decided at this moment to limit the number of Ecological-City workshop attendees to smaller groups. We ask that all those that have RSVP’d through Eventbrite reconfirm via this link and also please email Hannah Wargo <hhrosewargo@gmail.com> SUBJECT:  reconfirming RSVP and Workshop Date, so that we can update your attendance accordingly.

We have been adapting to the rapidly changing COVID-19 crisis and making adaptations each day, including, but not limited to:

  • Keeping our participant registrants numbers to smaller groups
  • Sanitizing all table surfaces
  • Requiring participants to wash hands upon arrival and can use gloves
  • Using multiple well-ventilated spaces including the outside area
  • Allowing participants to take projects home to work on some of the visuals

In response to this recent outbreak and recommendations of NYC Health, Earth Celebrations is taking the following measures:

    • Contacting all attendees, participants, volunteers, and members of the community with official information and updates
    • Posting notices from the CDC, State and Local Health Departments in workshop spaces and sharing with participants
    • Limiting workshops to a smaller number of participants
    • Requiring all attendees, employees, artists, and interns to wash their hands upon arrival and before leaving
    • Using fewer tables and allowing only small groups at each table
    • Creating more space between tables
    • Providing access to Biodegradable, sterile gloves
    • Keeping workshop spaces well-ventilated
    • Working to create/broaden opportunities to stay involved via the internet
    • Signs will be placed near the entry, recommending that all those that are symptomatic or have respiratory issues to stay home
    • Utilizing the outdoor space we have
    • Sanitizing tables before and after workshops
    • Posting local notices, updates, and information around the space.

We will continue to adapt as necessary and take any measures necessary. For example, we are working on recording and live-streaming artist workshops, where artists share their ideas and creative designs, costumes and puppets celebrating climate solutions and integrating inspiring sustainable art processes, including bio-arts, growing mycelium sculpture and kombucha leather, and working with seaweed.

Thank you

Thank you for your continued support of Earth Celebrations and its mission. We appreciate your commitment to your health, best practices, and keeping our community safe. We will keep you updated and are here to share and support each other.
